For outings up to four hours, the stock seat cushion is comfortable. On full-day outings my wife begins to feel the firmness by the afternoon. We bought a gel pressure-relief cushion for about $35 and the issue disappeared. Factor in an accessory cushion if your loved one will be seated for extended hours.
